General Position Summary

The Senior Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist will design and implement a strategy to ensure the INVEST DM 2.0 and other MCI programs appropriately addresses the varied needs of women, men, girls, and boys, and are sensitive to gender, age, caste, disability, and other social markers. Although the Senior GESI specialist will work primarily for INVEST DM 2, time and need permitting, s/he will support other YMCI programs.

BACKGROUND

Under the direction of DRM Manager, the Senior Program Officer is responsible for the planning, execution and reporting of INVEST DM 2.0 Intermediate Outcome 4: BNPB has the capacity to develop effective systems and strategies to support the sub-national government to implement Minimum Service Standard on Disaster Management (MSS-DM).

The position will be based in Jakarta (at the BNPB). Travel is required with up to 20% of her/his time expected to be spent at sub-national level.

That translates into the restructuring of the previous Taskforce to sit under the new committee and the establishment of an Economic Recovery Taskforce. Training and Mentoring Program Officer will support the Program Coordinator to develop or modify education materials on Nutrition and Self-care to manage the family’s health and COVID-19 risk prevention. S/he will work with the program officer to conduct Training of Trainers for at least 100 midwives and 500 health cadres, and deliver training and mentoring (through offline and online channels) on self-care education for 3,100 urban poor women.
