General Position Summary

The Advocacy Focal Point will be responsible for carrying out the tasks needed for smooth implementation for the project under the guidance of the Program Manager while closely working with both the DRR Focal Point and Deputy Program Manager. The Advocacy Focal Point has the overall responsibility for programming, planning, and implementation at the district level. S/he will be responsible for updating his/her weekly and monthly work plans in coordination with the DRR Focal Point and Deputy Program Manager.

The Nexus/Livelihoods Focal Point will be overall responsible for identifying key climate change issues, ecological concerns, and slow and rapid onset disasters at the community and market-level which are inducing climate risk, impacting farmers as well their income access. In the process, the successful candidate is expected to look at the nexus between DRR and livelihood with a view to livelihood resilience.

Mercy Corps Indonesia is currently implementing Managing Risk through Economic Development (MRED) program (MRED) 13 villages located in South Dolo and Kulawi Subdistrict in Sigi District. This program aims to improve community’s knowledge and capacity in disaster risk reduction efforts and livelihood resilience. One of the activities for disaster risk reduction in the MRED program is community disaster preparedness through an early warning system for floods.
